Hincheyville Franklin Tennessee 1819

In Franklin Tennessee, there is a 53-acre historic district called Hincheyville. Hincheyville is one of seven historic districts in the area, which was subdivided in 1819 by a wealthy developer named Hinchey Petaway.

There are a variety of styles found among the 70 contributing properties that include, Colonial Revival, English Tudor, and Bungalows from the 1920s and 1930s.

The house pictured above is the Whitehall House Circa 1928. This classic Greek Revival has a full-height entry porch. This subtype has a dominant central porch extending the full height but less than the full width of the facade. About one-fourth of Greek Revivals are of this sub-type. This particular home has square columns that were not found in early prototypes. This style of home is common between 1825-1860
